As the Duke basketball team prepares to return to Durham for the fall semester, one player stands out from the rest, showcasing his skills and leaving a lasting impression on the court. That player is none other than forward Mark Mitchell.

Last season, Mitchell proved to be a consistent force for Jon Scheyer's Blue Devils. His absence was sorely felt when Duke's season came to an end in the NCAA Tournament against Tennessee.

After a brief hiatus from the court, Mitchell has returned with a vengeance, making a name for himself this summer. In summer workout videos, he has become a focal point in the Blue Devil offense, demonstrating his comfort and prowess on that side of the court. With his already outstanding defensive skills, Mitchell has truly become a force to be reckoned with.

Recently, Mitchell attended the Nike Academy alongside his fellow freshmen teammates Caleb Foster and Jared McCain. ESPN NBA Draft analyst Jonathan Givony praised him as one of the best two-way players at the event. His tenacity and aggression in drills kept defenders on their toes, as he drove to the basket fearlessly, finishing through contact.

Furthermore, Mitchell has shown significant improvement in his footwork around the basket, as well as his midrange and 3-point shooting. Last season, his midrange jumper was rarely seen, but this summer he has showcased a newfound confidence in his shooting abilities. His 35.2-percent shooting from beyond the arc is a testament to his hard work and dedication.

Defensively, Mitchell's long frame poses a challenge for opposing shooters, making it difficult for them to find clean looks. Once again, he is poised to be one of the nation's best defenders, solidifying his reputation as a formidable force on both ends of the court.

This upcoming season, Mark Mitchell will undoubtedly be one of Duke's starting forwards. However, his role is set to expand significantly, as he emerges as a major breakout candidate. As November approaches, all eyes will be on Mitchell, eagerly anticipating his impact on the court.
